About Us

Nicole R. Prins, MS, LPC

Founder & owner of Lavender Lane Mental Health Services.

While well versed and experience in traditional interventions and therapeutic styles, such as CBT and DBT, my approach to therapy is collaborative and holistic. I include mythology, spirituality and other non-traditional interventions in treatment planning, particularly working to include a client’s cultural background into their care. My guiding principle both in regards to personal wellness and in effective therapy is authenticity. This is true in how I presents myself to clients and in encouraging others to embrace their most genuine selves.

I have experience working with veterans & active-duty service members navigating military sexual trauma, combat trauma, and/or integration back into civilian society. I enjoy working with high functioning neurodivergent adults, those with ADHD or ASD. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I provide therapy related to connected issues & sex positivity.

I would like to join you on your voyage through the often tumultuous sea you are navigating. When we embark, we set out on a journey of self-fulfillment, connectedness, and experience. You take the helm, and I will help you secure the sails that became disconnected. The foundation of my counseling approach is person-centered while specific treatments include, but are not limited to; existential counseling, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

I have worked in the mental health field for 17 years as a direct care worker, mental health worker, and special education teacher. I have multiple years of experience working with children and teens in foster care, neurodivergent children and teens, active duty military trauma, veterans with military trauma, and juvenile offenders.

While addressing the present may alleviate symptoms faster than a strict focus on the past, these mental strains you may be suffering from can recur if the past is not explored. We need to fully understand why you became disconnected in the first place and how we can integrate the lessons of the present while breaking the patterns of our past.
